President Receives Certification as
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Auditor
InfoSENTRY Services,
Inc. President, M. Glenn Newkirk, has received international certification to
audit disaster recovery and business continuity programs and plans. The
Business Resilience Certification Consortium International (BRCCI) notified
Newkirk that he has completed experience, coursework, and testing requirements
to become a Certified Business Resilience Auditor (CBRA).
Newkirk noted, “I
have been a certified professional in disaster recovery and business continuity
for over 15 years, helping many private companies, as well as local, state,
Federal, and international governments prepare disaster recovery and business
continuity plans. The logical step is to be able to audit the increasing number
of business resilience programs and plans. It is an honor to receive
certification from a non-profit international business resilience certification
body to carry out that work.” Newkirk is also a Certified Business Continuity
Professional (CBCP) and a Certified Software Project Manager (CSPM).
Newkirk was one of
the early information systems professionals to receive designation as a
certified business continuity professional. He observed, “There were not many
of us certified in this profession back in 1992. Now, there are over 10,000
internationally certified business continuity professionals. So, it is
appropriate once again to be among the small number of professionals certified
to audit disaster recovery and business continuity programs against recognized
international standards.”
BRCCI offers
international certification in business resilience management and business
resilience auditing. It also publishes The Business Continuity and
Resilience E-Journal dealing with disaster recovery, business continuity,
emergency management, and risk management.
